It is a good news that there is rapid growth in residential fire sprinkler market. It shows that people are now more conscious and taking good step to get the system installed in their home. It is also creating opportunity for fire sprinkler contractor to have more and more project for the fire protection system. With increase in demand for the systems, licensing, insurance, and access to training program have become popular words in the market. As these are the requirements along with the installation of latest designed fire sprinkler system.

@Fire Sprinklers, Thanks for your comment. Your desire regarding the "staggered roll-out of the legislation is in reality the way it is happening. Even though the requirement is contained in the IRC, each jurisdiction must adopt the new edition of the code which means that the rollout will take several years. Several states and a number of local jurisdictions have already acted on the legislation.

I think that the advisory nature of the legislation has allowed for a more natural growth in the market. Although I would like to see fire sprinklers made mandatory with certain types of new-builds based upon safety and envioronmental benefits there would be somewhat of a skills shortage if this were to happen straight away.

I still believe that mandatory legislation is the best way to proceed but maybe it should roll-out in a staggered manner to ensure an effective implementation.
